Olaf's Record Store RSD Gig - Saturday 12th April '25

Our Record Store Day gig at The Anchor included five bands all playing original music and made for great afternoon and evening's entertainment.
Hopefully we'll be welcoming them back to play again.

Don and Frank

Don Smith (guitar and vocals) and Frank Brown (lapsteel, banjo, harmonica, vocals) play Urban Country music straight from the Darenth Delta.

With great musicianship and engaging lyrics we're hoping Don and Frank will be returning to The Anchor in the near future. Watch this space.

The Dirk Munro Combo

Pat Gilbert's indescribable alter-ego appeared Brigadoon-like for a rare appearance.
With Pat Fury on guitar, Mike Williamson on bass and John "Cozy" Punyer on drums.

Laurie Wright

Up and coming London songwriter Laurie Wright has been recognised by Liam Gallagher, Sleaford Mods and Pete Doherty.

In a loud and energetic performance not seen here since The Molotovs Laurie wond new fans and warmed-up for a national tour starting May 1st in Glasgow.

The Remote Control

Recently formed by Sevenoaks musical stalwart Alex Lindsay, formerly of Wheels, The Remote Control is Alex's new venture with a brand new repetoire of atmospheric pop.

Hopefully the band will be venturing to the recording studio soon to put down their engaging pop on tape (or more likely hard drive).

The Electric Shades

The Electric Shades are an original Soul/Pop band influenced by the sounds coming out of America in the late 60's to mid 70's. A fresh take on an old sound poured straight from a melting pot of the R&B greats.

Lisa Marie: Piano/Lead Vocals
Jon Blackburn: Guitar/Vocals
Graham Blacow: Drums/Vocals
Tom Rowlands: Fender Bass

The band won a lot of new fans as our closing act with a slick performance of soul originals.
